About World of Freelancers

Hello!

My name is Sabina. I created World of Freelancers is to help you discover how to work for yourself at a job you will love and achieve a healthy work/life balance so that you can live the life you want and deserve..

After freelancing as a court reporter, which allowed me to do much of my work at home, I wanted even more freedom plus I wanted to experience more of the world. In 2010 I decided to slow travel for a couple of years. I didn’t have two years’ worth of money saved, so it was really fortunate that earning money online was starting to become a thing at that time!

I started a travel blog and began earning income from that as well as by writing articles for print and online travel publications, editing, scoping and doing a bit of proofreading. During that time I traveled for a while primarily around the Middle East and Asia and then settled down for long periods in the UAE, Israel and Egypt.

It was while I was back in Israel to visit friends a few years later that I came up with the concept of World of Freelancers. I then traveled overland to visit friends in Egypt, where I bought the domain name one afternoon and got to work on the site. After arriving back in the U.S., I launched the site in March 2018.  It’s been through a lot of changes since then!

On World of Freelancers I use my own experience as a freelancer to help give you the motivation and confidence, inspiration and ideas you need to succeed at working for yourselves and living the life you want.

Tens of millions of people freelance – either full time or part time – all over the world. Most of them work online. Although no one knows exactly how many people are freelancing now, the number is increasing all the time. The number of freelancers is growing, in part, because the number of ways you can earn money as a freelancer is growing. There are hundreds of different types of freelance jobs you can do.

Lots of companies large and small as well as organizations and individual entrepreneurs hire freelancers to perform services and create products. As a freelancer, you’re not working for them, though – you’re working for yourself.  Freelancers are independent workers and they are independent thinkers.

World of Freelancers is a place for you to learn the fundamentals of freelancing and discover all kinds of ways you can earn money working for yourself online as a freelancer. This site is for you if you are:

• interested in working for yourself and wondering how to get started

or

• currently freelancing and wanting to learn new freelance skill

Freelancing is the wave of the future. That’s a very good thing because working for yourself – and thinking for yourself – gives you freedom and flexibility, opportunities and adventures that other people may never experience.
